Don’t Feel like Going to Mass?

When you don’t feel like going to Mass, remember that Mass is more than a chore. It is Jesus coming to us. God is more proud of us when we go to Mass when we don’t want to than when we go because we want to. Going when we don’t want to shows a willingness to sacrifice comfort to go see him. Especially with children, going to Mass can be an extreme inconvenience. And with the restrictions due to COVID-19, it could be downright difficult to go to Mass. But Jesus said “Do this in memory of me.” The sacrifice of the Eucharist is worth it. “The Sunday Eucharist is the foundation and confirmation of all Christian practice. For this reason the faithful are obliged to participate in the Eucharist on days of obligation, unless excused for a serious reason (for example, illness, the care of infants) or dispensed by their own pastor. Those who deliberately fail in this obligation commit a grave sin” (CCC 2181). Since the time of the Old Testament, keeping the Sabbath holy has been upheld by God’s people. Ask the Holy Spirit to convict you with the desire to go to Mass even when doing so is outside your comfort zone. You’ll be glad you did. ❓Have ideas for future videos ❓ Topics you want to hear about ❓ Questions you want answered ❓Make sure to put #AskAscension in your comment 👍 — MORE FROM ASCENSION — 🔸Ascension’s main website: http://ascensionpress.com 🔸Ascension Media: https://media.ascensionpress.com 🔸The Great Adventure Bible: https://ascensionpress.com/collections/featured/products/the-great-adventure-catholic-bible — SOCIAL MEDIA — 🔸Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AscensionPress/ 🔸Twitter: http://twitter.com/AscensionPress 🔸LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/ascension-press 🔸Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/catholicfaithformation/ 🔸Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/ascensionpresents
